Frequently Asked Questions
How far back does the Wayback Machine go?+
The Internet Archive has been archiving the web since 1996. Not every website is archived equally — major sites may have thousands of snapshots while smaller sites may have only a few. Availability depends on how frequently the archive’s crawlers visited the site.
Can I extract URLs from any website?+
Yes — you can extract historical URLs from any publicly accessible domain that has been archived by the Wayback Machine. Enter the domain name (with or without https://) and our tool queries the CDX API to retrieve all recorded URLs.
How many URLs can I extract?+
Select “All URLs” in the limit dropdown to retrieve all available URLs. Most domains return hundreds to thousands. Very large sites may have millions of archived URLs — use the year filter to narrow results to a specific period.
What does the CSV export include?+
The CSV includes the original URL, content type (HTML, image, CSS, JS), HTTP status code at time of archiving, timestamp, archival date, and a direct Wayback Machine link to view each archived version.
Is this tool free to use?+
Yes, completely free with no signup required. We query the Wayback Machine CDX API which is publicly available at no cost. There are no limits on URL extraction and no account is needed.
